RPI Fixed and Tracking Array

The two solar arrays in these photos are the same except for their mounting.  The number and type of solar modules are the same and the type of inverter is the same.  The only substantial difference is the mounting.  One array is mounted firmly to the roof top.  The other array is on a tracking mount that allows the array to always stay pointed at the sun.  These are monitored by Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and the data used to study the advantages and disadvantages of each mounting style.
