SUNY-ESF ON THEIR WAY TO ZERO CARBON CAMPUS

The State University of New York, College of Environmental Sciences and Forestry, better known as SUNY-ESF, developed the following mission statement: ”

The mission of the College of
Environmental Science and Forestry is to
advance knowledge and skills and to promote
the leadership necessary for the stewardship
of both the natural and designed environments.

As part of the implementation of that mission statement the university has developed the SUNY-ESF Plan for a Carbon-Neutral Campus by 2015.  This has resulted in a substantial roll-out of renewable energy systems on campus.  HeliotronicsData Monitoring and Display Systems are being used to measure and displaythe energy used by the campus and produced by these systems.  The displays are used in classrooms to teach about renewable energy, to raise awareness throughout the ESF community and beyond, and to demonstrate through action the the university’s commitment to environmentalism.  Below are photos of many of these renewable energy systems.
